Trimmer Tycoon is a pleasant surprise that is - sadly - marred by a glaring technical issue (at least for me?) at the later parts of a playthrough. The gameplay is simple:1. Click on a Customer.2. Erase (Cut) and Re-colour (Dye) Pixels to match Customer's desired Pixel Beard.3. Repeat 1. and 2. in order to (a) Pay for Rent and (b) Upgrade Shop.4. When you can’t pay your rent, you lose.Erasing Pixels involves two tools (shaver and scissors, which both erase pixels based on their respective tool shapes) and the usage of the left mouse button, where you swap between tools with the right mouse button.Re-colouring Pixels involves the usage of the Red, Green and Blue tint bars, where you click-and-drag to make the colour match; over here, the challenge is the combination of all three bars to achieve the colour that matches closely/exactly to the Customer's desired colour for his/her Pixel Beard. Re-colouring affects the entire beard and not individual pixels. The more accurate you are in erasing and re-colouring, the more money you get, which either has to go to your rent or can be used for shop upgrades. The goal of this game is to see how far you can keep paying your rent as your rent cost goes up every time you are charged for it; when you can't pay your rent as it’s due, you lose. The amount of time you are given before your rent is due each time is based on your shop upgrades, but the base time of the rent cycle you start with is 1 minute and 30 seconds.Shop upgrades stretches the gameplay along with your ability to keep paying your rent as you (1) hire beard barbers and train them, (2) buy furniture and (3) expand your shop. In fact - in order to survive beyond the 30 minutes mark of your rent cost, - you need to upgrade your shop, especially having furniture to provide you bonuses to keep paying your rent considerably.(1) Beard barbers (employees) are basically automatons to help you cut the beards of your waiting customers because customers who wait too long will leave. Upgrading your beard barbers makes them cut faster and increases the revenue gained from them cutting. You can have up to two (2) beard barbers max - based on expanding your shop. Though, I might be missing something because the trailer shows that you can have three beard barbers whereas I could only have two at most after expanding.(2) Furniture provides passive bonuses, which will help in the long-run (either by spawning more customers through popularity, by increasing their waiting times, by increasing the general revenue, etc.).(3) Expanding your shop allows you to hire more beard barbers (up to 2 max) and to own more furniture, and - also - shop expansion provides passive bonuses similar to furniture but also provides one setback based on the type of expansion you choose. You can only expand your shop twice and - for each expansion - you only have two choices, which both have differing bonuses and setback.Basically,This game is a time trial pixel art tycoon, and it's hilariously more fun than you would expect as - together - the simple mechanics of erasing, re-colouring and shop upgrading starts off excitingly and manages to keep the pace of adrenaline in wanting to paying your rent to see how far you can get. Despite the average pixel art, This is a good game in its simplicity, and the music keeps a fun mood. There's a Leaderboards too if you're into competing scores, which I have no idea how 'Time Survived' and 'Beards Shaved' scores are calculated since only the 'Money Earned' score follows the exact value you earned in total via revenue. In regards to the thumbs-down reviews,Majority of their complaints are based on the difficulty that comes from the lack of using shop upgrades to keep paying rent, which leaves them losing earlier in their playthroughs in comparison to players who do utilise shop upgrades. However, what is deserving of a thumbs-down is the glaring technical issue of this game. The glaring technical issue of this game is that the spawning of customers - along with the playtime of your playthrough - eventually reduces the consistent framerate; I started off at a very stable and smooth framerate, but, after 40 minutes into my first playthrough, I started losing framerate to a point where - at my 60 minutes mark - I couldn't properly erase nor re-colour my customers' beards to match properly (with 7 frames per second then) so I had to depend on my beard barbers, which led me to being unable to pay for my rent since my 2 beard barbers (both of them at skill level 31) couldn't generate enough revenue to pay off my rent, which had become around 70,000$ by the 87 minute mark.Again: I am not sure if I am the only one experiencing this glaring technical issue or not.Otherwise, I would have played this game several more times (yes, I only have one playthrough of this game) and would have even bought the skin bundles to support the developers, which I am having a hard time considering now; this is still a good game but this technical issue really kills the feeling of wanting to try a second playthrough to beat my record. Still, I think this game is worth - at least - a shot because it's a unique and simply pro-active tycoon game. 8/10Also,In case anyone is interested, here's how my single playthrough went.[My Playthrough]--------------------Time survived: 87 minutes and 25 secondsBeards shaved: 1,668 BeardsMoney earned: 1,126,261$*Unlocked 'Millionaire' Achievement (earn 1,000,000$ in a single playthrough)Fully Upgraded Shop*Unlocked 'Completionist' Achievement (purchase all available furniture)*Completely Expanded Shop*Hired as many Beard Barbers (2 max) (both with skill level 31)------------------------------------------Your Turn; Have Fun!. I made a video review, check it out!https://youtu.be/jcBFvpPW-_Q. This game is awesome! The only thing that would make it better is local multiplayer competitions!. hardfunfreewhats not to like?. Controls are♥♥♥♥♥. This Game Is Fun But only for a few games. Then it gets very repetive but it is very fun for the little time its non repetitive.I think this used to be on kongregate but im not sure either way its a fun game.would be cool to see a big youtuber play it.But anyway hope you update it a little more.EDIT: when i bought the brown building for 5000 (the top one) the game went to a black screen. And i I sat there and waited a good 2 min and it was still a black screen so i dont know if it was just a one time problem but this makes me a little upset. And i was doing really good
